Our ancestors speak in ways both subtle and profound, in the wind’s embrace, the crash of waves, the steady rhythm of rain. Sometimes, they speak through the people we meet. That’s how I met @trueleeder founder of @wheretheleavesbe.

I saw him and his potnas setting up a nursery pop-up. Lush plants, vibrant energy, and organic home fragrances that pulled me in. Something about the setup, the care, the purpose, felt familiar. Curiosity led to conversation, and conversation led to an exchange that stayed with me. Frederick gifted me a plant, saying, “Pick what you want, man.” That plant is still thriving, but more than that, the moment itself lingered.

@trueleeder from LA, started at Xavier University in pre-med before pivoting to law, searching for ways to create real change. He found his answer in urban planning and environmental law at UCLA, studying how land, water, and sustainability shape our future. @wheretheleavesbe isn’t just about plants it’s about reclaiming space, stewarding the land, and ensuring we have access to clean air, water, and soil.

Meeting @trueleeder wasn’t just about receiving a plant, it was receiving a message. A reminder that the work we do, the seeds we plant, and the spaces we reclaim all have purpose. And when we move with intention, we don’t just grow, we thrive!
